## New Payments Platform (NPP) in SuperStream – What’s Changing
Super funds and SMSFs will be required to accept payments via the **New Payments Platform (NPP)** through SuperStream starting **1 July 2026**. ### Who is affected?
- All **superannuation funds**, including **Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs)**.
- Employers and parties sending contributions or rollovers via SuperStream. Imports, transitions, or normal operations via SuperStream messages must support NPP payment method. ### Steps to take before implementation
- Funds should **opt-in early** by email (SuperStreamStandards@ato.gov.au), and be registered in the published opt-in register. Register will be replaced by the Fund Validation Service from 1 July 2026. - Ensure **bank accounts are enabled** to receive NPP payments with your financial institution.
